Dubai: Tamil superstar and passionate racer Ajith Kumar met with a car crash during a practice session for the upcoming Dubai 24 Hours Race 2025. The incident occurred just minutes before the six-hour endurance test concluded, as Ajith’s car spun out of control and collided with the barriers.
Ajith Kumar, who owns the Ajith Kumar Racing team, had been gearing up for the highly competitive race alongside teammates Mathieu Detry, Fabian Duffieux, and Cameron McLeod. Notably, Fabian Duffieux assumed the role of team manager for Ajith Kumar Racing in December 2024.
In a video released by his team, the crash shows Ajith’s car spinning seven times before coming to a halt. The actor was promptly rescued and transported to an ambulance. However, his manager, Suresh Chandra, confirmed that Ajith emerged unscathed. “Ajith is unhurt, hale, and healthy. He was driving at a speed of 180 kmph when this happened,” Chandra said.
Ajith’s passion for motorsports is well-documented, and he had been intensely preparing with his team for the endurance race. The event requires participants to race for 24 hours, with each team member driving in six-hour relays. Ajith’s crash occurred as he was nearing the completion of his stint.
The Dubai 24 Hours Race would have marked the debut of Ajith Kumar Racing in endurance racing, further cementing the actor’s dedication to the sport. Fans and motorsport enthusiasts are relieved that he is safe and eagerly await his next update.
