MT Ramesh responds to ‘Empuraan’ boycott calls

Kerala BJP leader MT Ramesh has responded to the political debate surrounding L2: Empuraan, the Mohanlal-starrer directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran, which was released on Thursday.
His remarks defending the film came amid allegations that it portrays Sangh Parivar organisations negatively, with some groups even calling for a boycott.
Responding to the criticism, Ramesh stressed that a film should be viewed in its cinematic context, rather than being politicised. “A film should be seen as a film. The people of Kerala have the common sense to do so,” Ramesh stated.
“How many films have been released against the Sangh Parivar? Does the Sangh Parivar function in this country depending on cinema?” Ramesh questioned.
