GPCC Appoints New Block Presidents, Convenors in South Goa

The Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) on Saturday announced the appointment of five new Block Presidents and two Constituency Convenors for South Goa, as part of its efforts to strengthen organisational structures at the grassroots level.
The appointments, made with immediate effect, include Shri Sahish Amerkar (Mormugao), Shri Siddesh Kalangutkar (Vasco), Shri Constantino Faleiro (Fatorda), Shri George Dsouza (Curchorem), and Shri Sanket Bhandari (Sanvordem) as Block Presidents. Additionally, Shri Savio Coutinho (Margao) and Shri Jitendra Naik (Sanguem) have been named as Constituency Convenors.
The restructuring, approved by the South Goa District Congress Committee President, is aimed at mobilising community support, enhancing booth-level coordination, and ensuring greater participation in party activities, a statement from the GPCC said.
The newly appointed leaders have been tasked with implementing party programmes, maintaining organisational discipline, and reporting to the District Congress Committee as per the Congress constitution.
Issuing the appointments, GPCC President Amit Patkar extended best wishes to the office-bearers, expressing confidence that their efforts would strengthen the Congress’s connect with the people and reinvigorate party activities across the region.
