Congress Demands Reconstruction of Shree Khapreshwar Temple

Panaji:
The Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) has demanded the reconstruction of the Shree Khapreshwar Temple at Succoro at its original location, accusing the BJP government of hypocrisy on Hindutva. GPCC President Amit Patkar asserted that the Congress stands firmly with the temple committee and devotees in their rightful demand.
“The BJP’s hypocrisy on Hindutva stands fully exposed. While they claim to protect Hindu interests, they have demolished the Shree Khapreshwar Temple and are now ignoring the legitimate demand for its reconstruction. This is a betrayal of Goans and their religious sentiments,” said Amit Patkar.
He further accused the BJP of exploiting religion for political gains while failing to protect sacred sites. “The BJP indulges in tokenism and propaganda, but when it comes to real action, they conveniently ignore the demands of devotees. Their selective approach to Hindutva is nothing but a political stunt,” he added.
Reiterating the Congress’s commitment to safeguarding Goa’s religious and cultural heritage, Patkar demanded the immediate reconstruction of the temple, respecting the sentiments of devotees and the temple committee.
The GPCC warned that if the government does not take prompt action, the Congress Party will initiate a state-wide agitation to expose the BJP’s double standards on religion and disregard for Goa’s cultural legacy.
