INDIA Alliance Candidate Capt. Viriato Fernandes and Adv. Ramakant Khalap along with other Leaders paid Floral Tributes at the Martyrs Memorial and Statue of Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia to mark the beginning of the Loksabha Election Campaign.
Congress President Amit Patkar, Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao, MLAs Altone D’Costa and Adv. Carlos Ferreira, CWC Invitee Girish Chodankar,AAP President Amit Palekar, MLAs Capt. Venzy Viegas and Cruz Silva, NCP(SP) Jose Philip D’Souza, Goa Forwards Prashant Naik, TMC’s Samil Volvoikar, Shiv Sena’s Jitesh Kamat, former Minister Alina Saldhana, Adv. Pratima Coutinho and other leaders, functionaries and workers of various Opposition Parties were present for the Launching Event.
Revolution has begun today to permanently remove Dictator Modi-led BJP Government from power and install a pro-people INDIA Government. I am confident that Goa will give victory to both our Candidates, said Congress President Amit Patkar.
It was Tuesday 18th June 1946 when Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia and Dr. Juliao Menezes launched the Goa Revolution Movement from this Lohia Maidan. Today is Tuesday and we are gathered to launch a movement to start a Revolution against the Dictatorship of BJP, stated Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao.

Later both Candidates visited Shree Pimpalkatta and offered prayers to Lord Damodar. South Goa Candidate Capt. Viriato Fernandes, Quepem MLA Altone D’Costa, LOP Yuri Alemao, Congress President Amit Patkar and others also visited New Market and interacted with Shopkeepers and Vendors.
