Congress Terms Chargesheet Against Leadership a ‘Political Conspiracy’

Panaji :
Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) President Amit Patkar on Monday strongly condemned what he termed the “blatant misuse of central agencies” by the BJP-led Union government, following the filing of chargesheets against Congress Parliamentary Party Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi, and other senior party figures in connection with the National Herald case.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, Mr. Patkar alleged that the seizure of National Herald assets and the legal action against the Congress leadership were “politically motivated acts of vendetta.” He called the development “a direct assault on democracy” and accused the BJP of using investigative agencies to “settle political scores.”
“The Modi Government is misusing institutions to target a family that has sacrificed everything for the nation. But the Congress will not be cowed down by such intimidation,” Mr. Patkar said.
He reaffirmed the party’s resolve to stand by its leadership and continue its fight for what he described as “truth, justice, and the Constitution.”
“Satyamev Jayate,” the statement concluded.
