Goan Bodybuilding & Fitness Athletes Make History with 7 Medals at IBBFF Nationals

Team Goa made history at the 65th IBBFF National Bodybuilding & Fitness Championship 2025, held in Shirdi, Maharashtra, from March 24 to 27, by clinching 7 medals with just 10 participants — a first in the state’s sporting history.

The prestigious three-day championship, recognised by the International Federation of Bodybuilding and Fitness (IFBB), Madrid – Spain, and conducted under the aegis of the Indian Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation (IBBFF) – Maharashtra, witnessed exceptional talent from across the country. Goa, though a small team, made a big impact under the banner of the Bodybuilding and Fitness Association of Goa (BFAG).

Mr. Manjit Salgaonkar – 4th Place Medal in Senior Men’s Bodybuilding up to 55 Kgs Category.

Mr. Vijayjoel Gonsalves – 4th Place Medal in Senior Men’s Bodybuilding up to 80 Kgs Category.

Mr. Tejas Shetgaonkar – 6th Place Medal in Senior Men’s Bodybuilding up to 85 Kgs Category.

Mr. Dattaraj Naik – 6th Place Medal in Masters 40 to 50 Years Category


This exceptional performance of 7 medals from 10 athletes underlines Goa’s rising presence in the national fitness scene and is a testament to the commitment, discipline, and rigorous training of the athletes.
