CM Dr. Pramod Sawant Did Nothing In Last 15 Months And Now Only Hope Of Pope Coming To Goa : Amarnath

Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao had written to the Chief Minster Dr. Pramod Sawant on 6th February 2023 to keep no stone unturned to ensure that His Holiness Pope Francis visits Goa during his visit to India. It is really sad that Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant did nothing in last 15 months and now only hopes His Holiness will visit Goa, stated Congress Media Cell Chairman Amarnath Panjikar.
He was reacting to the Social Media post of Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant after Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Pope Francis in Italy and invited him to visit India. I want to remind the Chief Minister that Pope Francis himself had announced his wish to visit India in early 2023, said Amarnath Panjikar.
Immediately after the announcement of the Pope, Goa Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao had written a letter to the Chief Minister urging him to put all efforts to ensure that Goa is part of the Itinerary of Pope Francis. He had also requested the Chief Minister to start preparations for the said visit from the date of his letter, pointed Amartnath Panjikar.
The social media post of the Chief Minister mentioning of the word “Hope” exposes the fact that Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant did nothing in last 15 months. I suspect that Anti-Minority agenda of the BJP has compelled the Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant not to act on the letter of the Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao, claimed Amarnath Panjikar.
I hope better sense will prevail and the Chief Minister will atleast send some communication to the Prime Ministers Office to include Goa in the Itinerary of Pope Francis during his visit to Goa. Goans across Religions will welcome Pope Francis with open heart, said Amarnath Panjikar.
