Wreath Laid by Madganvcho Awaaz at Monument of Delay in Margao

Margao : On 15th September 2015, the foundation stone for Margao’s Multistoried Parking Complex was laid. A decade later, not a single brick has been added. What was meant to ease Margao’s chaos has instead become a Monument of Delay and neglect by MLA-turned-Minister Digambar Kamat. On its 10th anniversary today, we placed a wreath in protest at this symbol,” stated Madganvcho Awaaz & Youth Leader Prabhav Naik.

Prabhav Naik said the people of Margao were promised relief from traffic congestion and parking woes through this project, but instead have been handed ten years of neglect and inaction. He said the empty site is a stark reminder of the unfulfilled assurances given to Madganvkars.

He further stated that Mr. Digambar Kamat has repeatedly failed Margao by treating development promises as mere photo opportunities. Prabhav Naik remarked that what should have been a lifeline for the city has been reduced to nothing more than a forgotten project.

Prabhav Naik pointed out that every passing year without progress further exposes the lack of seriousness of those in power. He said the Multistoried Parking Complex has now become a Monument of Broken Promises, where the hopes of the people lie buried under a stone that never saw construction.

He stated that Madganvcho Awaaz will continue to remind the people of such failures and ensure that negligence and delay do not go unchallenged. Prabhav Naik said this fight is not just about a parking project but about holding elected representatives accountable for their repeated shortcomings.

Prabhav Naik concluded that by placing a wreath today, Madganvcho Awaaz has sent a strong message that Margao’s youth will not remain silent spectators to inaction and neglect. He said the Monument of Delay will forever stand as lasting evidence of broken promises until elected representatives deliver what the city truly deserves.
