‘Why Government Transferred DGP & Suspended Police If No Official Involved In Assagao House Bulldozing?’
Panaji :
BJP Government headed by Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant must explain to Goans why the Director General of Police was Transferred and other Police Officials Suspended if no Police Officer is involved in Assagao House Bulldozing Case, questioned Congress President Amit Patkar.
Addressing a Press Conference at Congress House with General Secretaries Adv. Shrinivas Khalap, Everson Vales and North Goa District Congress President Virendra Shirodkar, Congress President termed BJP Government as “Gaud Bangal Sarkar”.
Government is desperately trying to cover-up all its misdeeds. As per Reply given in Assembly, Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant has now backtracked from his own annoucement of Repairing the House of Agarwadekars. He has also replied that no Police Officer is involved in the said Case, stated Amit Patkar.
We want Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant to come clean on failure of his Government to recover almost 230 Crores from Vedanta, Adani, JSW and others towards Rural Welfare Cess. We charge that Government is deliberately ingnoring the recovery as defaulters are Crony Club Members of PM Narendra Modi, said Amit Patkar.
It is now clear that Government went ahead with acquiring 10 lakh square meter land for 60 Crores at Rivona for IIT Project without even preparing DPR or conducting a study of Employment Opportunities to Goans, Impact of Environment & Green Cover. We appeal to People of Sanguem and Canacona not to fall prey for false propoganda of BJP said Amit Patkar.
I want Goans to know that as per Reply given in Assembly, NIT Project in Cuncolim gave only 15 Regular Jobs while 3 on Contract and almost 111 are on Oursourced Temporary Basis. This data exposes tall claims of BJP that Projects like NIT and IIT will bring Jobs to Goans, pointed Amit Patkar.
Our MLAs have raised issues of Future of Dabolim, Unemployment, Failed Disaster Management, South Goa District Hospital and other issued concerning Goa and Goans in the Second week of Assembly. All the three MLAs deserve compliments for their performance, said Amit Patkar.
Our CLP Leader Yuri Alemao raised issue of Traffic Congestion at GMC Entrance and Safety of Students of Vidya Prabhodini, Porvorim. Government was compelled to address the issues immediately, said Shrinivas Khalap.
Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao raised the issue of proposed Waste Treatment Plant at Verna Indistrial Estate which will destroy Environment and Water Bodies. We hope that Government will rethink and scrap the project as demanded by Yuri Alemao, said Everson Vales.
