Aldona : St. Thomas Higher Secondary School, Aldona, organised an Ex-Students’ Meet on Saturday to reconnect with former students and lay the groundwork for a formal alumni association. The programme, held in the school hall, saw nearly 70 alumni participate, out of close to 100 who had registered.
Former teacher Marceline Vaz attended the event, adding a note of nostalgia to the gathering. School Manager Rev. Fr. Jerard Sahayaraj welcomed the participants and outlined the purpose of the meeting, highlighting the role alumni can play in supporting the institution and contributing to society.
Sir Daryl Abranches briefed the gathering on the proposed framework and requirements for constituting an Ex-Students’ Association. Subsequently, a group of volunteers was identified to take the process forward.
The event also featured interactive activities, including games and musical performances. Principal Angelica Fernandes proposed the vote of thanks, and the programme concluded with a fellowship lunch.
The meet was organised with the support of the school staff and coordinated by Sr. Arjun Gharse, Tr. Lavina Pereira, Tr. Josephine D’Souza and Tr. Hyacinta Lobo. The organisers described the initiative as a step towards building a structured and active alumni network for the school.
