‘Shrimati Samnotsav’ to Celebrate Women’s Contributions
Panaji:
Priol Pragati Manch is set to host the first-ever ‘Shrimati Samnotsav’ in Goa, a special event dedicated to honoring women who balance work, home, and society with little recognition. The event, scheduled for January 5, will feature famous actress Varsha Usgaonkar, who will felicitate the women with the ‘Shrimati Samnotsav’ award.
The ceremony will take place at the Big B Auditorium in Betki-Khandola on Sunday, January 5, from 10 am to 4 pm. Minister for Art and Culture, Sports, and Youth Affairs, Govind Gawde, will be present as a special guest, and dignitaries will present the ‘Gomantak Pratibha Puraskar’ and ‘Shrimati Samman.’ A variety of cultural programs have also been organized for the occasion.
Speaking about the initiative, Reena Gawde, Program Head of Priyol Pragati Manch, highlighted that women’s hard work is often overlooked in society, even though their sacrifices are significant. “Recognizing their contributions and offering praise boosts their confidence. Through this initiative, we aim to honor the women of our state, and Shrimati Samnotsav is a key part of this effort,” she said.
The event is open to all, and the organization’s President, Yugank Nayak, and Chief Coordinator, Reena Gawde, have encouraged more women to participate.
