Series of Fatal Accidents Continue in Padi Accident-Prone Zone
Panaji:The Padi area, increasingly recognized as an accident-prone zone, has witnessed a series of fatal accidents, claiming the lives of several young individuals. Taking a serious note of the issue, Aam Aadmi Party’s Goa ST Wing Vice President Vinay Velip, along with party workers, visited the accident site. He highlighted the dangerous bend in the road and raised questions about the government’s inaction.
“Since April, there has been a continuous string of accidents in this area, resulting in the tragic deaths of many innocent citizens. The primary cause is the sharp curve and the narrow width of the road,” said Vinay Velip. He emphasized the urgent need for road widening, installation of protective barriers, proper signage, and a traffic signal system to prevent further tragedies.
“Don’t wait for yet another accident to take action. Accident-prone areas like Padi must be made safe immediately,” party workers asserted, warning that a mass agitation would be launched if timely measures are not taken.
AAP underlined that this is not merely a political demand but a serious issue concerning public safety. The administration must act swiftly and decisively in the interest of the local community’s well-being.
