Ramesh Tawadkar Reacted on Candlelight Press Conference of CLP Either As Bjp Or Pwd Spokesperson : Amit Patkar

It looks like Ramesh Tawadkar has quickly reacted to the Candlelight Press Conference of the Congress Legislature Party as Spokesperson of BJP or Public Works Department. Sadly, he did not show the same promptness to act on my two reminders to decide on Disqualification Petitions, charged Congress President Amit Patkar.

Reacting to the Statement made by the Speaker of the Goa Legislative Assembly alleging that the Leader of the Opposition Yuri Alemao made a drama by holding a Press Conference with lighted Candles, Amit Patkar dared the Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar to keep in Public Domain all File Notings of the so-called Renovation Work carried out in Assembly Complex.

I charge that the work in Opposition Leader’s Chamber is undertaken without a Tender. I reiterate the Congress Party’s charge that the Projects and the Works undertaken by the BJP Government are with “Mission Total Commission” resulting in sub-standard and poor-quality works, said Amit Patkar.

Corrupt BJP Government spent 14.26 crores on Repairs and Renovations of Minsters Chambers in Ministers Block from March 2022 till January 2024. Recently, the painting work of the Goa Legislative Assembly was undertaken. Sadly, the orange colour has now turned into pale yellow. I hope Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar will seek explanation from the Contractor, stated Amit Patkar.

The classic reflection of the “Upside Down” style of functioning of the BJP Government is seen in the on-going work of the Goa Legislative Assembly Building. They painted the building first and now are doing the Water Proofing work of the roof resulting in all the mud and dirt from the top flowing down on the painted walls, pointed Amit Patkar.

There are repair works going on in the Chamber of Chairman of Library Committee Krishna alias Daji Salkar. The internal paint in the Assembly Complex has also faded away. The common Toilets are leaking and stinking. I challenge the Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar to arrange a visit of the Congress Delegation to the entire Assembly Complex with Media Reporters. We will expose the shabby works undertaken by the PWD, said Amit Patkar.

Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar should perform his duties with responsibility. He should explain why the Goa Legislative Assembly Complex is still not made “Accessible and Disable Friendly” to Persons with Disabilities. He should first put his house in order before levelling baseless allegations on the Leader of Opposition, stated Amit Patkar.
