Prabhav Naik Questions Digambar Kamat’s Silence on Coal Transportation

Margao – Madganvcho Awaaz & Youth Leader Prabhav Naik has strongly criticised Margao MLA Digambar Kamat for his complete silence on coal transportation and the double tracking project, despite Indian Railways openly admitting that the project is meant to facilitate coal movement.
Releasing a video of Digambar Kamat’s past speech, Prabhav Naik said, “In 2020, when Goans were protesting against coal and double tracking, Digambar Kamat roared in full voice, declaring coal as poison and projecting himself as the protector of Goa’s environment and people’s health. But after the 2022 elections, when he betrayed Margao’s mandate and defected for a ministerial chair, that roar has turned into silence.”
Prabhav Naik further added, “The same man who once called coal poison now swallows his words only to remain in power. This exposes that his stand was never about saving Goa but only about saving his political position.”
While criticizing Kamat, Prabhav Naik stated, “Now that Indian Railways has made it clear that double tracking is for coal transportation, Digambar Kamat must make his stand clear to the people of Margao and Goa. Does he still consider coal as poison, or has the lure of power changed his belief?”
Warning of the dangers, Prabhav Naik said, “Coal transportation and double tracking will cause irreversible damage to Goa’s environment, health, and heritage. A leader who once shouted slogans with the people but today remains silent cannot be trusted to safeguard Goa’s interests.”
Concluding his statement, Prabhav Naik appealed to the people, saying, “The citizens of Margao must remember these betrayals. Goa does not need leaders who trade their people’s future for power. Goa needs voices of courage, not defectors who bend before Delhi and betray their own.”
