Prabhav Naik Fires Salvo at Margao MLA Without Naming Him

Despite Order of South Goa Collector  dtd 23rd July 2024, is it the lethargy of the government or political pressure from Senior Politician in Margao which has prevented PWD from undertaking trimming of trees in Aquem which pose a threat to School Children, Senior Citizens & Commuters?, questioned Youth Leader Prabhav Naik.

Referring to his letter dated 22nd July 2024 and subsequent order of Deputy Collector directing PWD to immediately undertake trimming of trees in Aquem, Prabhav Naik slammed the authorities for not acting due to political pressure.

Government officials should perform their duties in accordance with law. I had not asked for any personal favour, what i had demanded was purely in the interest of Citizens of Margao. How can someone refrain PWD officials from undertaking trimming of trees? asked Prabhav Naik.

Actually it is the duty and responsibility of the Elected Representatives, may it be Councillors or MLA to ensure that Citizens are provided Safety and Security at all times. I was compelled to write a letter to Additional Collector since no one bothered to act, pointed Prabhav Naik.

I am not here to politicise the issue. I am angry as well as hurt to see the delay in carrying out a simple work of trimming of trees for almost 25 days since Collector issued order. Ganesh Chaturthi festival is fast approaching, i hope authorities will atleast wake up now and do the work, said Prabhav Naik.

I also appeal to Chief Officer of Margao Municipal Council to start a Cleanliness Drive in Margao by cutting grass along roads, cleaning of drains in view of the festival season, stated Prabhav Naik.
