Ordeal Of Patients Continue At Hospicio : Prabhav Naik

Margao :
Painful ordeal of patients & relatives has become a routine at South Goa District Hospital. Surprisingly BJP Government is showing insensitivity towards hardships faced by Citizens. Health Minister Vishwajit Rane must act proactively on measures suggested by Madganvcho Awaaz, stated Youth Leader Prabhav Naik.
Reacting to the delays in availability of Ambulances for patients during emergencies or to shift patients from Hospicio to Goa Medical College, Prabhav Naik slammed the BJP Government for its insensitive approach and negligence towards making South Goa District Hospital fully functional.
After a Memorandum intiated by Madganvcho Awaaz was submitted to him, Health Minister Vishwajit Rane had promised to send two Ambulances to Hospicio. Later he himself launched 21 advanced Ambulances under CSR in Panjim and announced that emergency care capabilities have received a significant boost. Unfortunately, the annoucements has remained only on paper. Not a single new Ambulance has reached South Goa District Hospital, claimed Prabhav Naik.
On thursday, a pregnant woman undergoing labour pains could not get Ambulance to reach from Margao Railway Station to Hospicio. She was later helped by a samaritan Kamal alias Munna Khan who arranged taxi for her and safely brought her to the hospital, pointed Prabhav Naik.
Nothing changed on Friday, when a young patient with a leg fracture and who was referred to Goa Medical College had to wait for almost 3 hours for an Ambulance. The entire ordeal is available on a video, said Prabhav Naik.
When patients for orthopedic surgery are referred to GMC, it exposes the ill prepardness of South Goa District Hospital. Tall claims of Goa Government fall completely flat. It is high time that Health Minister Vishwajit Rane take steps to make Hospicio fully functional as tertiary hospital, said Prabhav Naik.
