Nari Nyay, an empowering initiative aimed at ensuring justice and equality for Women across India, encompasses a series of impactful measures. Congress Manifesto will give extra power to Women, said Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao.
Highlighting the five commitments of Congress for Women, Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao appealed to Women in Goa to support Congress.
Recognizing the pivotal role of women in every family, Nari Nyay introduces the Mahalakshmi scheme, providing financial support of 1 lakh per year to one woman from every poor family. This initiative not only uplifts women economically but also acknowledges their contribution to the household and society, said Yuri Alemao.
Addressing the gender disparity in employment opportunities, Nari Nyay advocates for 50 percent reservation for Women in new Central Government jobs. By breaking traditional barriers, this initiative ensures Women’s equal participation in the workforce, promoting gender diversity and inclusivity, claimed Yuri Alemao.
In a bid to honor the dedication and hard work of grassroots-level Women Workers, Nari Nyay pledges to double the salary contribution of the Central Government for Asha, Anganwadi, and Mid-Day Meal Workers. This not only enhances their financial security but also acknowledges their invaluable contribution to community welfare, Yuri Alemao said.
To safeguard Women’s legal rights at the grassroots level, Nari Nyay proposes the establishment of Adhikar Maitris in every village. These dedicated facilitators ensure that Women have access to legal recourse and assistance, empowering them to assert their rights and seek justice, stated Yuri Alemao.
Addressing the need for safe and supportive accommodation for working women, Nari Nyay commits to doubling the number of hostels available for them. These Savitribai Phule Hostels provide a conducive environment for women pursuing employment opportunities away from their homes, promoting their independence and empowerment, said Yuri Alemao.
In essence, Nari Nyay embodies the Congress Party’s commitment to promoting gender equality, empowering women economically, socially, and legally. By addressing systemic barriers and providing targeted support, this initiative strives to create a more inclusive and equitable society where every woman can realize her full potential, said Yuri Alemao.
