‘One Battle After Another’ wins Best Picture at 98th Academy Awards

LOS ANGELES, March 16: One Battle After Another, directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, emerged as the biggest winner at the 98th edition of the Academy Awards, securing the Best Picture award at a star-studded ceremony held at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday.


The film also earned Mr. Anderson the Best Director award, while Sean Penn won Best Supporting Actor for his performance in the film.


In the lead acting categories, Michael B. Jordan won Best Actor for his role in the film Sinners, while Jessie Buckley was named Best Actress for her performance in the historical drama Hamnet. Amy Madigan won the Best Supporting Actress award for Weapons.


Sinners also received recognition in technical categories, including Best Original Screenplay for Ryan Coogler and Best Original Score for Ludwig Göransson. Other major winners included the animated feature KPop Demon Hunters, which won Best Animated Feature, and Sentimental Value from Norway, which won Best International Feature Film.


Indian actor Priyanka Chopra Jonas was among the presenters at the ceremony and presented the award for Best International Feature Film.


The ceremony, hosted by Conan O’Brien, celebrated achievements in global cinema, bringing together filmmakers and artists from across the world.
