‘Monserrate’s statement proves, No congressman involved in illegal land conversion’
Goa congress leader and CWC member Girish Chodankar said, Revenue Minister Atanasio ‘Babush’ Monserrate’s outburst reflects rampant conversions facilitated by TCP Minister Vishwajit Rane in the state.
Chodankar said Monserrate’s accusation proves that Rane is converting land without adhering to legal procedure against the interests of Goa and said that Goa is not safe with Rane at the helm of the TCP ministry.
Chodankar further said, in an attempt to protect himself and divert attention, Rane is targeting the Congress party and its leaders, accusing them of benefiting from conversions.
“I warn Mr. Rane to avoid tarnishing the reputation of our party and our leaders as none of them are involved in illegal land conversions in the state. The TCP minister ought to either substantiate his claims or issue a public apology for comments directed at Congress leadership,” he said.
