Madganvcho Awaaz Resolves to Protect Goa in 2026 and Beyond

Margao : Madganvcho Awaaz has resolved to stand firmly with all voices of conscience and to actively participate in any collective effort to safeguard Goa for future generations, reaffirming its commitment to protect the State’s land, environment, villages and people through unity, vigilance, and moral resolve.

In response to the appeal made by former Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court Judge Justice Ferdino Rebello, Youth Leader Prabhav Naik today met Justice Rebello and submitted a resolution on behalf of Madganvcho Awaaz, expressing solidarity with his call for Goans to unite against unchecked and destructive development.

Madganvcho Awaaz noted that Justice Rebello’s statement, widely carried by major newspapers and followed by strong editorial responses, struck a deep chord across the State. His articulation of the environmental crisis facing Goa resonated deeply with citizens witnessing the rapid erosion of ecological balance and village life.

The resolution submitted stated that Justice Rebello’s words went far beyond reacting to a single news item. They reflected pain, concern and a profound sense of responsibility towards protecting Goa’s hills, forests, rivers, seashores and villages from unregulated construction and exploitation.

As a citizens’ platform, Madganvcho Awaaz reiterated that it has consistently raised issues concerning the collapse of law and order, failure of disaster and safety management systems, killer roads, poor healthcare facilities, environmental degradation and the alarming rise in crime. These crises, though varied, stem from governance that places profit above people and development above dignity.

As Goa stands at the threshold of a New Year, Madganvcho Awaaz has resolved that 2026 must usher in a renewed people’s movement to defend Goa’s environment, social fabric and dignity through collective action, accountability and unwavering moral courage.
