Margao – Madganvcho Awaaz and Youth Leader Prabhav Naik, has launched the “Mhaje Madgao, Mhaje Garden” campaign, calling upon citizens to actively participate in safeguarding the iconic Margao Municipal Garden. The initiative encourages people to create and share videos highlighting the garden’s heritage, significance, and the urgent need for its preservation.
Prabhav Naik appealed to all Goans to come together in this collective effort, emphasizing that the Margao Municipal Garden is not merely a green space but a symbol of the city’s cultural and historical identity, cherished by generations.
Marking the 60th year of the historic Goa Opinion Poll, which played a crucial role in preserving Goa’s unique identity, Naik urged citizens to draw inspiration from this milestone. “As our forefathers stood united to protect Goa’s identity, we too must unite to preserve the heritage of our iconic Garden,” he stated.
The campaign launch also coincides with the 248th anniversary of Margao’s elevation from a village to the status of a town. Highlighting this milestone, Naik noted that on 3rd April 1778, Margao was officially elevated through a Royal Decree, marking a significant chapter in the city’s history.
Through the “Mhaje Madgao, Mhaje Garden” campaign, Madganvcho Awaaz aims to build a strong people’s movement to ensure that the Margao Municipal Garden is saved from destruction and preserved for future generations.
