‘Kupamcho Daryeo’ Wins Big at Goa State Film Festival

Panaji : Konkani short film Kupamcho Daryeo, produced by Sahit Prakashan, registered a clean sweep at the 11th edition of the Goa State Film Festival, winning all six awards in the Non-Feature Film category.
The awards for Best Non-Feature Film, Best Theme, Best Music, and Jury Special Mention awards for Best Sound Design, Best Cinematography, and Best Editing were presented to the team by Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant, Vice-President of the Entertainment Society of Goa Delilah Lobo, and BJP State President Damu Naik at a ceremony held at Kala Akademi.
Kupamcho Daryeo had its world premiere in the ‘Goan Stories’ section at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI), 2021. Since then, it has travelled widely, earning recognition at several national and international film festivals. Its screening at the recently concluded State Film Festival marked another milestone, with the film bagging every award in its category, a rare achievement for a Konkani short film.
The 11th edition of the State Film Festival was held alongside the 10th and 12th editions in Panaji from August 14 to 17. The combined awards function recognised works across all three editions, and Kupamcho Daryeo stood out for its complete dominance in the non-feature film section of the 11th edition. The film was screened at the Maquinez Palace. on August 17 to an appreciative audience.

Written by Kishor Arjun and Himanshu Singh, the film is directed by Himanshu Singh and stars Raavi Kishor and Ugam Zambaulikar in the lead roles. Cinematography is by Ashwin Chide, editing by Gopal Sudhakar, music by Daulat Palyekar, and audiography by Bhavesh Phulari. The poetic narrative draws from a poem by renowned Konkani writer Uday Bhembre, while a song penned by Kishor Arjun has been sung by Gayatri Patil and Daulat.
