Panaji:
Poet, writer, Director Kishor Arjun has achieved remarkable double success at the state-level Konkani and Marathi poetry writing competition organized by Ravindra Bhavan sanquelim. His poems in both languages received honours, and the awards were recently presented by dignitaries at a public function held at Ravindra Bhavan, sanquelim.

His Konkani poem ‘Shaar’ (city), which reflects urban life, won the state-level second prize. The poem vividly portrays the realities of modern city living, highlighting stress, loneliness, and the sensitive inner world of an individual.

In the Marathi category, Kishor won the first prize for his poem ‘Manikravanche Avartan’, dedicated to the poetic universe of renowned Marathi poet Grace. The poem seeks to capture Grace’s poetic essence, his language, deep introspection, and the sense of loss felt after his passing.

Speaking on the occasion, Kishor Arjun said,
“Both Shaar and Manikravanche Avartan are very close to my heart because of their emotional depth and the experiences they portray. The judges selecting both poems in different languages in this competition is very significant for me. Moreover, receiving an award for Konkani poetry writing for the first time is a matter of special joy.”
