Irfan Pathan Dropped from IPL 2025 Commentary Panel
Former India cricketer Irfan Pathan has been left out of the commentary panel for the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) season. According to a report by the Times of India, Pathan was sidelined after being accused of bias and targeting specific groups of players during his commentary and social media activity.
Pathan, a regular commentator in both English and Hindi since his retirement, reportedly had a fallout with a few players years ago. Sources claim that despite not naming them directly, he made indirect remarks on social media that sparked controversy, leading to backlash from broadcasters.
This isn’t the first time a high-profile commentator has faced consequences for controversial remarks. In 2020, Sanjay Manjrekar was also removed from BCCI’s commentary panel for his “bits and pieces” comment about Ravindra Jadeja during the 2019 ODI World Cup.
