IFFI 2024: NFDC India announces selection for Co-Production Market

The 18th NFDC Film Bazaar’s Co-Production Market officially selected 21 feature films and 8 web series from seven countries. The Film Bazaar, organized by the National Film Development Corporation of India (NFDC), will take place from November 20th to 24th, 2024, at the Marriott Resort in Goa, alongside the International Film Festival of India (IFFI).
This year’s selection boasts diverse languages, including Hindi, English, Assamese, Tamil, Marwari, Bengali, Malayalam, Punjabi, Nepali, Marathi, Pahadi, and Cantonese. Filmmakers from India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Australia, the UK, Germany, and Hong Kong will have the opportunity to pitch their projects to potential co-producers, distributors, festival programmers, financiers, and sales agents.
The Co-Production Market, a crucial part of Film Bazaar since 2007, aims to provide financial support and networking opportunities for selected projects. This year, NFDC received an impressive 180 feature applications from 23 countries in 30 languages and 38 web series submissions from 8 countries representing 14 languages for the inaugural edition of the Web Series section.
“The Co-Production Market has become a crucial part of Film Bazaar, providing valuable financial support to selected projects,” said Shri Prithul Kumar, Managing Director of NFDC. “We wish all the selected filmmakers the best of luck in finding the perfect co-production partners to bring their visions to life!”
This year marks a new partnership with ATF, introducing a project for a cross-exchange initiative. The eight web series selected span a variety of genres, including Drama, Romance, Period Drama, Comedy, Action, Coming-of-age, Adventure, and Thriller.
Film Bazaar, established in 2007, is dedicated to discovering, supporting, and showcasing South Asian films and talent. The Bazaar facilitates the sales of world cinema in the South Asian region and serves as a hub for networking and collaboration opportunities for filmmakers, producers, sales agents, and festival programmers from around the world.
