Hope CM Dr. Pramod Sawant Will Listen To Words Of Wisdom Of Caring Son-in-law Of Goa Suresh Prabhu : Yuri Alemao
Panaji :
Welcome statement by former Union Minister Suresh Prabhu who has urged the need to study Goa’s Carrying Capacity and protect the Western Ghats. I hope Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant will listen to Words of Wisdom of caring Son-in-Law of Goa and take proactive steps to stop further damage, stated Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao.
Reacting to the Statement made by former Union Minister Suresh Prabhu highlighting the need to control the influx in the State and calling Goa as extension of Delhi, Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao said that Suresh Prabhu has said what Congress is demanding for last twelve years.
This is an Eye Opener for all those who speak in favour of Three Linear Projects, Tamnar Power Project and support massive Land Conversions and Sale of Lands in Goa. This is an alarm for all those who oppose Tiger Reserve in Mhadei Wildlife Sanctuary. Former Union Minister has spoken the truth and has shown the mirror to the BJP Government, claimed Yuri Alemao.
I want to remind the Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant of the Goa Vision 2035 Document prepared by Committee headed by Eminent Scientists Dr. Raghunath Mashelkar and urge him to seek advice from former Union Minister Suresh Prabhu and take proactive steps to ensure that no further damage is caused to this tiny State, Yuri Alemao said.
I am feeling pained by the lethargic and careless approach of the BJP Government on the sensitive issues which have harmed Goa. Government is not taking any steps to protect the Environment, Forest, Wildlife and the Coastlines of Goa. It appears that the Goa Government is controlled by Land & Real Estate Mafias, pointed Yuri Alemao.
If we do not protect the Bio-Diversity rich hotspot like the Western Ghats, we will see a day when not a single drop of water will fall from the Dudhsagar Waterfalls. Our Lifeline Mother Mhadei will dry and convert Goa into a Desert. I humbly appeal to the Goans to realise the danger lying ahead and control any further deterioration, said Yuri Alemao.
