Healthcare Iconic Fashion & Awards honours frontline workers

The Healthcare Iconic Fashion & Awards (HIFAA) concluded its two-day event at the Taj, Goa, celebrating the convergence of healthcare, fashion and community service. The event paid tribute to healthcare professionals and frontline workers for their contributions to society.
The gathering was attended by former Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Kumar Mishra and Goa’s Social Welfare Minister Subhash Phal Dessai, both of whom commended the initiative for recognising the efforts of healthcare workers.
A highlight of the programme was the felicitation of 102-year-old freedom fighter and Padma Shri recipient Dr. Libia Lobo. Dr. Lobo, who later walked the ramp with doctors and models in Adhya Fashion ensembles, received a standing ovation from the audience.
Playback singer Hema Sardesai was honoured for her social work and treated participants to renditions of her popular songs.
Panel discussions during the event explored diverse aspects of healthcare and wellness. Dr. Rajneesh Kant conducted a live demonstration on chiropractic techniques, while Dr. Santosh Pandey, fitness expert Mickey Mehta and physiotherapist Ali Irani offered insights on exercise and wellness. General physician Dr. Rajnikant Mishra engaged the audience with humour-laced commentary.
Doctors, nurses, ward attendants and ambulance drivers were among those felicitated for their services as the “backbone of healthcare”. Nitu Joshi, representing the Miam Charitable Trust, received the Best NGO and Social Work Award for the organisation’s outreach in Gadchiroli and Nagpur.
The proceedings, anchored by actor Ekta Jain, also featured interactions by BIG FM Goa’s RJ Akash and RJ Namrata with awardees and guests. The event was organised under the leadership of Dr. Rahul Bajpai (President), Dr. Biswajit Mondal (Founder), Hemanshu Mehta (Co-founder) and Dr. Santosh Pandey.
The organisers said the event underscored the idea that healthcare is not limited to service delivery, but embodies resilience, community engagement and public recognition.
