Goa State Film Festival 2025: 10th, 11th & 12th Editions to Be Held Simultaneously from August 14–17

In a landmark celebration of Goan cinema, the 10th, 11th, and 12th Editions of the Goa State Film Festival 2025 will be hosted together from August 14 to 17, 2025. Organized in collaboration with the Department of Information and Publicity, the four-day cinematic extravaganza promises to be a treat for regional film lovers, filmmakers, and aspiring talent across Goa.
Festival Timeline & Venues
The inaugural ceremony will be held on August 14, while the grand closing ceremony is scheduled for August 17. Film screenings will take place at Maquinez Palace Theatre and INOX, Panaji.
Each edition will cover a distinct film production period:
10th Edition: Films made between Jan 1, 2018 – Dec 31, 2019
11th Edition: Films made between Jan 1, 2020 – Dec 31, 2021
12th Edition: Films made between Jan 1, 2022 – Dec 31, 2023
Showcasing Regional Talent
The festival will highlight films made in Konkani and Marathi, offering awards in two major categories:
Feature Films: Divided into separate Konkani and Marathi sections.
Non-Feature Films: Combined section for Konkani and Marathi films.
Feature Films must be over 70 minutes in length, while Non-Feature Films should run between 5 and 70 minutes.
Goan Identity at the Core
All submitted films must include at least 15% Goan-origin on-screen artists and main technicians or have individuals with a minimum 15-year domicile in Goa. Films must also hold a CBFC certificate and include English subtitles. Full eligibility criteria and guidelines can be found on www.esg.co.in.
Major Awards & Prize Money
Feature Film Awards (Separate for Konkani and Marathi):
Best Film: ₹5,00,000 (First), ₹3,00,000 (Second)
Best Director: ₹50,000 (First), ₹35,000 (Second)
Other awards (₹25,000 each): Best Actor, Actress, Supporting Actor/Actress, Child Artist, Story, Screenplay, Dialogues, Lyrics, Music Director, Playback Singer (Male/Female), Cinematography, Editing, Audiography, Art Direction, Costume Design.
Non-Feature Film Awards (Konkani + Marathi combined):
Best Non-Feature Film – Fiction: ₹1,00,000
Best Non-Feature Film – Non-Fiction: ₹1,00,000
Technical Awards (₹25,000 each): Cinematography, Audiography, Editing, Music Direction
Best Theme: ₹20,000
Short Film Challenge: 48 Hours to Create
As a pre-festival highlight, a 48-hour short film challenge will be held. Participants will receive a topic during the festival and must submit their films within 48 hours. Selected films will be screened during the main event.
Short Film Awards include:
Best Film: ₹25,000 (First), ₹20,000 (Second)
Best Director, Cinematographer, Editor, Actor (Male/Female): ₹15,000 each

Submission Guidelines & Deadlines
Film submissions for the competition sections will open on June 17, 2025, and close on July 7, 2025.
