Goa AVGC-XR Association launched to boost creative industries

In a major advancement for Goa’s animation, visual effects, gaming, and extended reality (AVGC-XR) sectors, the “Goa AVGC-XR Association” has been officially launched. This new body is set to drive collaboration, innovation, and growth, positioning Goa as a key hub for these creative industries.
Ashish Kulkarni, chairman of the FICCI AVGC-XR Forum and founder of Punnaryug Artvision, shared, “After three years of efforts, including meetings in Goa, Mumbai, and Pune, we finalized the Association plan with the Goa IT department in November 2023. We will now collaborate with the Goa government to revive the Goa AVGC-XR Policy.”
Kulkarni will mentor the Association, with Tapan Acharya as president, Kishor Arjun as vice-president, Rohit Khandekar as secretary, Vinay Bhat as joint secretary, and Jeetendra Shikerkar as treasurer. The executive committee also includes six members: Yugank Naik, Pradyumn Naik, Paresh Naik, Vinit Kundaikar, Makarand Tilve, and Megharaj Akarkar, alongside representatives from the Goa IT Corporation.
Acharya, a noted figure in Marathi and Konkani cinema, stated, “Our goal is to draft the Goa AVGC-XR Policy, present it to the ministry, and drive it forward.”
The AVGC-XR industry is also forming associations at both national and regional levels across India. With this dedicated team, the Goa AVGC-XR Association is set to significantly impact the region’s creative industries.
