Daivadnya Cricket Cup 2026 concludes at Fatorda

The eighth edition of the Akhil Gomantakiya Daivadnya Brahmin Youth Association’s (AGDBYA) Daivadnya Cricket Cup 2026 concluded on January 18 at the S.A.G. ground, Fatorda, after two days of spirited competition.
The concluding ceremony was attended by Dr. Geeta Nagvenkar, Member Secretary of the Goa State Pollution Control Board, as the Chief Guest, and Dr. Chitra D. Lotlikar, General Medicine Practitioner, as the Guest of Honour. On the occasion, Miss Sakshi Haldankar, National Weightlifting Champion, was felicitated with the Daivadnya Sports Achiever Award in recognition of her achievements.
A total of 17 teams from across Goa participated in the tournament, including two women’s teams and two children’s teams, reflecting the association’s inclusive approach to promoting sports. Addressing the gathering, AGDBYA President Smt. Seema Rohit Vernekar welcomed the guests and highlighted the association’s year-round social and community initiatives.
Dr. Geeta Nagvenkar appreciated AGDBYA’s efforts in organising the tournament in a professional manner and commended the association for encouraging youth participation in sports.
More than 200 people attended the prize distribution ceremony, where trophies and awards were presented to the winners and standout performers.

The programme was compered by Miss Aishani Lotlikar and Dr. Rajvi Lotlikar, while Mrs. Sampada Nagvekar, Secretary of AGDBYA, proposed the vote of thanks.
