AGDBYA’s 4th Carrom Tournament 2024 was a resounding success
The Akhil Gomantakiya Daivadnya Brahmin Youth Association (AGDBYA) and Ponda Daivadnya Brahman Samaj supported by Goa Carrom Association organized “4th Daivadnya Carrom Tournament 2024” on Sunday 28th July 2024 at Daivadnya Hall, Ponda Goa.
This competition was held in four categories, Men (15-49 years), Women (15 years & above), Veterans (50 years & above) and Kids (below 15 years). We received 134 entries in total.
Prashil Salkar, President-AGDBYA and Deepak Lotlikar, President-Ponda Daivadnya Samaj welcomed all the guests.
Prashil Salkar, in his speech, quoted “AGDBYA, founded in 2009 always thrives to bring our community people together by organizing various activities such as Health camps, Career guidance camps, Sports events etc and AGDBYA also provides helping hands to our needy students by giving them books, fees and other Educational help”. He also quoted that in this busy world of smartphones and the digital world, these types of tournaments help the children to remain active physically. He also congratulated the winners.
The Chief Guest of the function Shri Prashant Shirodkar, Director, Directorate of Official Language, Panaji, Goa, thanked the organizers for putting together this impressive event and professionalism shown. He also added such kind of events enable our local players to showcase their skills and talents, contributing to youth progress and also extended his sincere gratitude to organizers for extending him this privilege.

Runner up – Rahul Lotlikar
2 Semi Finalist – Soham Chodankar & Anant Chodankar
Women (15 years & above)
Winner – Snehal Walke
Runner up – Dipa Anvekar
2 Semi Finalist – Shilpa Verlekar & Simran Haldankar
Veterans (50 years & above)
Winner – Shamrao Raikar
Runner up – Manoj Chodankar
2 Semi Finalist – Keshav Raikar & Guiresh Bandodkar
Kids (Below 15 years)
Winner – Shreyank Chodankar
Runner up – Siya Verlekar
2 Semi Finalist – Svanik Lotlikar & Rugvedh Salkar
The winners were awarded at the hands of Chief Guest Prashant Shirodkar. Other winners were awarded at the hands of by Sneha Kadnekar, President-Ponda Daivadnya Mahila Mandal, Deepak Lotlikar, Prashil Salkar and Suraj Naik, Head refree.
AGDBYA felicitated Master Harsh Raikar, Goa Ranji Cricket Player (U-16 & U-19). Simran Santosh Haldankar was also felicitated for winning bronze medal for India in South Asia Karate Championship held in Bhutan.
Vrundawan Raikar compared the prize distribution ceremony. The event was concluded by AGDBYA Secretary Rohit Vernekar by thanking the participants, volunteers, spectators, guests, referees, sponsors and all the helping hands that made this tournament a great success.
