Goa racer Ashrafi ShetDesai Gaikwad clinches maiden INAC podium

Panaji: Ashrafi ShetDesai Gaikwad of Ponda, Goa, secured her first podium finish at the Indian National Autocross Championship (INAC), finishing as the second runner-up in the final round held here on March 28 and 29.


The achievement follows a demanding season comprising five qualifying rounds conducted across the country, with participation from over 40 competitors. Demonstrating consistency and resilience throughout the championship, Ms. Gaikwad emerged among the top performers in the final standings.


Her podium finish marks a significant milestone in her motorsports career and is seen as a moment of pride for Goa. It also highlights the growing presence of women in Indian motorsports, a field traditionally dominated by men.


Speaking after the event, Ms. Gaikwad described the season as challenging yet rewarding, noting that the result reflects sustained effort and determination over the past year.
