Viral Kumbh Mela woman seeks police protection in Thiruvananthapuram
Thiruvananthapuram:
Monalisa Bhosle, who gained nationwide attention after a video of her at the Kumbh Mela went viral, approached the Thampanoor police station here seeking protection, police said on Wednesday.
Bhosle arrived at the station along with her boyfriend, Farman, and told police that she feared threats from her father. She sought protection but did not file a formal complaint against him, officials said.
According to reports, the woman had travelled to Kerala for the shooting of a film. Following an argument with her father in Ernakulam, she left the city and reached Thiruvananthapuram by train with Farman.
She reportedly informed the police that she wished to live with her boyfriend.
Bhosle had shot to fame after a video of her selling rudraksha beads at the Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj went viral on social media, drawing large crowds and widespread attention. Her sudden popularity later led to opportunities in the film industry.
She is expected to make her film debut in The Diary of Manipur, directed by Sanoj Mishra
