Prabhav Naik Condemns Black Spot Event
Margao : Black Spots mark the tragic loss of innocent lives due to dangerous road conditions. It is deeply unfortunate that PWD Minister Digambar Kamat is choosing to organise ceremonial events to “commence” repair works at these deadly stretches instead of accepting accountability for the negligence that allowed them to become death traps in the first place, stated Madganvcho Awaaz & Youth Leader Prabhav Naik.
He said, “Each of these identified Black Spots represents a grave failure of governance and a painful reminder that timely corrective measures could have prevented irreparable loss to countless families. When accidents repeatedly occur at the same locations, it is not coincidence, it is administrative apathy and delayed intervention,” Prabhav Naik said.
“What raises further concern is the larger question behind these events and ceremonies. Are these functions being orchestrated to facilitate commissions under the guise of road repairs? The people of Goa have a right to question whether these works are being undertaken for safety or for vested interests,” said Prabhav Naik.
“If the government was truly committed to road safety, corrective measures would have been implemented the moment these stretches were officially identified as accident-prone. Instead, action appears reactive and conveniently timed, giving rise to suspicion that financial considerations may be driving the repair works more than humanitarian concern,” he added.
Prabhav Naik further questioned the conspicuous silence of PWD Minister Digambar Kamat over the alleged 75 lakh Ganesh Pandal scam and the controversial “inch-by-inch zig-zag roller coaster” drain works along the Margao ring road. He stated that serious allegations of financial irregularities demand transparent clarification.
