Truth, Justice & The ‘sealed Envelope’ Will Prevail : Prabhav Naik
Margao: Madganvcho Awaaz strongly condemns the alleged threat call made to a lady petitioner from Bhiunsa, Cuncolim, who has challenged the recruitment process of the Margao Municipal Council before the Hon’ble High Court of Bombay at Goa. Youth Leader Prabhav Naik termed the incident “deeply disturbing” and demanded immediate and strict police action against those responsible.
Reacting to the complaint filed by the petitioner, who was allegedly threatened over a phone call for approaching the High Court, Prabhav Naik said that intimidation tactics will not silence voices seeking transparency. “Threatening a citizen for seeking justice is an attack on democracy and the rule of law,” he stated.
Prabhav Naik reiterated that the recruitment process of the Margao Municipal Council has been under a cloud for several months. He said that any attempt to pressurise or harass the petitioner only strengthens suspicion about irregularities and misuse of power in the selection process.
He reminded that on 8th November 2024, he had sealed an envelope containing the names of certain candidates who, he alleged, were likely to secure jobs in lieu of political support extended to the Council promoted by defector Margao MLA and PWD Minister Digambar Kamat. The envelope, he added, was signed by journalists as witnesses to ensure transparency and credibility.
“The sealed envelope will speak for itself at the appropriate time. Truth cannot be suppressed forever. If the recruitment was fair and transparent, there should be nothing to fear,” Prabhav Naik asserted, expressing full faith in the judiciary.
Madganvcho Awaaz demanded a thorough and impartial investigation into the alleged threat call and called upon the authorities to ensure the safety of the petitioner. “Truth and justice will prevail. No amount of pressure or intimidation can stop the fight for accountability,” Prabhav Naik concluded.
