Indie singer Prabhanjan reveals first look of Afro Desi single Thugwa

Independent music artist Prabhanjan has released the first look of his upcoming Afro Desi single Thugwa, offering listeners an early glimpse into a high-energy track that blends African pop rhythms with a Hindi pop sensibility.

The single, produced by Buki, is built around an Afro four on the floor groove and a playful Hindi hook. According to the artist’s team, the song carries a light, flirtatious narrative about a smooth-talking but emotionally distant man, set against dance-friendly beats and a tongue-in-cheek tone. The visual teaser presents a colourful, carefree mood that matches the track’s club-oriented sound.

Prabhanjan began training in Hindustani classical music at the age of 16 and later graduated in the subject from Delhi University. He has also studied sound engineering, a background that informs his approach to arranging and production. His work typically blends classical melodic elements with contemporary genres such as R and B, pop, and indie.

He has previously released multilingual singles in Hindi, Kannada, and Punjabi, and is known among indie listeners for tracks such as Milte Rahe, Gir Jaane De, Fareb, and Soya Jaye Na. These releases helped him build a steady independent audience across streaming platforms.

With Thugwa, the singer experiments more directly with Afro pop textures while retaining an Indian lyrical and melodic base. The single is expected to be released shortly.
