Transcend Goa 2026 opens with focus on transmedia and creator economy
Panaji : The first day of Transcend Goa 2026, a two-day conclave focused on the future of transmedia, content, and the creator economy, concluded on Wednesday with discussions on storytelling, innovation, and emerging business models in the creative industries. The event is being organised by the Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG) and Goa Futureproof, with support from the Government of Goa.
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant inaugurated the conclave in the presence of Chief Secretary V. Candevelou, IAS, Vice Chairman of ESG Delilah Lobo, and ESG CEO Asvin Chandru, IAS. Also present were Sajan Raj Kurup, Chairman of Creativeland Group, and several industry representatives from film, animation, publishing, and digital media.
Delivering the keynote address, Mr. Kurup spoke on the process of building and scaling transmedia intellectual properties, emphasising the need to develop integrated storytelling ecosystems that span film, digital platforms, animation, gaming and immersive formats.
The day featured panel discussions and sessions with filmmakers and industry professionals including Raja Krishna Menon, Monisha Advani, Vijay Koshy, and Raj Comics founders Sanjay Gupta and Vasu Gupta. Speakers also included Ashish Kulkarni, Chairman of the AVGC–XR Forum, FICCI; Raghava Krishna, Founder of Brhat; Shobha Sant, CEO of Creativeland Studios; Rajiv Chilaka, Founder of Green Gold Animation; and Vignesh Raja, Co-founder of A.R. Rahman’s Secret Mountain.
Discussions on Day 1 explored emerging trends in transmedia storytelling, the convergence of film and digital content, immersive technologies, and evolving business models in entertainment. Participants highlighted the need for collaboration and innovation to support sustainable growth in the creator economy.
The conclave will continue on Thursday with further sessions aimed at strengthening Goa’s positioning as a hub for creative and media industries.
