Air India signs codeshare with airBaltic to boost Baltic connectivity
Mumbai: Air India has entered into a unilateral codeshare agreement with airBaltic, expanding its footprint in the Baltic region and offering smoother connectivity between India and Latvia via major European hubs.
The arrangement builds on the interline partnership signed in June 2025. Under the codeshare, Air India has placed its ‘AI’ code on airBaltic-operated flights between Riga and key European gateways including Amsterdam, Paris, Frankfurt, Copenhagen, Milan Malpensa, Vienna, Zurich and London Gatwick. This allows passengers to travel from India to Riga on a single Air India ticket.
Through the existing interline agreement, Air India customers can also access Tallinn in Estonia and Vilnius in Lithuania via select European points.
Nipun Aggarwal, Chief Commercial Officer, Air India, said the expanded partnership would make travel to Latvia and the wider Baltic region significantly more convenient for Indian travellers.
Air India currently operates non-stop services from India to several European destinations and has steadily grown its global network since privatisation in 2022. The airline now has 24 codeshare partnerships and close to 100 interline agreements, providing access to over 800 destinations worldwide.
The codeshare flights are open for bookings across both airlines’ sales channels and travel agents globally.
