Five Goan films selected for IFFI 2025

The Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG) has announced the official selection for the Goan Stories Section of the 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI), to be held in Goa from November 20 to 28, 2025. A total of 17 entries were received this year, of which five non-feature films have been selected by a jury chaired by filmmaker P. Sheshadri, with Priya Krishnaswamy and Rajeev Bhatia as members.


In the Goan Director’s Cut, the selected films are Zero Bulb (dir. Soham Prasad Bhende), Halad (dir. Sobita Kudtarkar), and My Dad Invented the Vadapav: Ashok Vaidya and Sons (dir. Sainath Uskaikar). Under the Goan Producer’s Cut, the chosen titles include Meraki, By the Sea (prod. Dr. Gwendolynn De Ornelas) and Ghar (prod. Sahit Studios LLP), both premiering at the festival. Ghar will also have its world premiere at IFFI.


ESG congratulated the filmmakers, cast and crew, noting that the Goan section continues to highlight the state’s evolving independent cinema. The festival will also host open-air screenings, cultural parades, the annual Romtamel competition, and public events across Miramar, Fatorda and Vagator as part of its 2025 edition.
