After Note Bandhi, Now Cheque Bandhi? : Prabhav Naik
Margao : Madganvcho Awaaz & Youth Leader Prabhav Naik has expressed strong concern over the ongoing delays in cheque clearance, which are causing immense inconvenience to citizens across Goa. He said that people’s hard-earned money cannot be held hostage to inefficiency and technical lapses in the banking system.
Prabhav Naik stated that the delay, reportedly due to technical glitches attributed to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), has disrupted financial transactions and affected individuals, traders, and small business owners who rely on timely cheque payments for their day-to-day operations.
“A few years ago, the nation suffered through ‘Note Bandhi’. Today, are we witnessing ‘Cheque Bandhi’?” Prabhav Naik questioned, adding that such lapses shake people’s confidence in the financial system and create unnecessary hardship for the common man.
He further pointed out that banking services are a lifeline for citizens and must operate with efficiency, accountability, and transparency. Technical issues should never become an excuse for depriving people of access to their own money.
Madganvcho Awaaz has demanded immediate intervention of the Chief Minister of Goa to take up the matter with the concerned authorities and ensure that cheque clearance and other banking operations are restored to normalcy at the earliest.
