Margao : Madganvcho Awaaz and Youth Leader Prabhav Naik, through his verified social media handle, has tagged the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), raising serious concerns over the deepening unemployment crisis in Goa. Referring to the serpentine queue of thousands of qualified youth outside the Directorate of Health Services (DHS) in Campal, competing for just 100 contractual nursing posts, Naik remarked, “The images emerging from the venue reflect not just desperation, but a collective cry for dignity, opportunity, and accountability.”

“These are not mere job seekers, they are the backbone of their families. Young men and women with degrees, experience, and fading hope, burdened by EMIs and aging parents, are being forced to chase insecure, short term posts with no benefits or job protection,” said Prabhav Naik. He termed the situation a “damning indictment of a system that is failing Goa’s youth every single day.”

The conduct of the recruitment process has also come under sharp criticism. With no clear schedule and absolutely no crowd management, the turnout of applicants from all corners of the state led to chaotic, unending queues. The glaring lack of basic planning has once again exposed the state’s administrative apathy toward its youth.

Prabhav Naik has also raised a fundamental question: why was the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) not engaged for such a large scale recruitment? “If thousands of young Goans are applying for government jobs, why is a statutory recruitment body like the SSC being bypassed? Why are such crucial appointments being handled in an ad hoc and arbitrary manner?” he asked.

Equally concerning is the feasibility of the interview process itself. “With thousands turning up in a single day, how will the interviewers ensure fair and meaningful assessments? Is this a genuine recruitment effort, or just a formality? Goa’s youth deserve better than a tick box exercise,” Naik stated, calling out the lack of transparency and seriousness.

Prabhav Naik has urged the PMO and central agencies to urgently take note of the situation and intervene where necessary. “Goa’s youth deserve more than token interviews for temporary posts. They deserve a future and a system that respects their qualifications, effort, and dreams,” he concluded.
