Sacred Games Actress Elnaaz Norouzi Targeted in Cybercrime Case, Private Photos Threatened

Actress Elnaaz Norouzi has become the latest victim of cybercrime after an unidentified individual allegedly threatened to leak her private photos. Reports indicate that the perpetrator attempted to exploit Norouzi by using her personal images as blackmail. In response, the actress has taken legal action and sought assistance from cybercrime authorities.
The ordeal began in January when Norouzi received a suspicious email. Speaking to ETimes, she revealed, “On January 18, I received an anonymous email. Normally, I avoid such emails, but this one had my password in the subject line, which caught my attention. When I opened it, I found my private pictures attached, along with a message that said, ‘I have your pictures. If you don’t want them posted online, reply as soon as possible. Otherwise, my next email will contain a link to them online.’”
Cybercrime Investigation Traces Email to Switzerland
Taking immediate action, Norouzi contacted the Cybercrime Cell, which launched an investigation. Within two days, officials traced the email’s origin to a server in Switzerland—a platform known for concealing user details. “This means the perpetrator knew how to evade detection. While the authorities couldn’t retrieve more information about the individual, they did terminate the user’s account. However, I worry that the person might contact me again using a new email,” she said.
During the investigation, officials asked if she had clicked on any suspicious links that could have compromised her security. “I recalled filling out a form on an unfamiliar link. The Cybercrime team visited my home, advised me to back up my data, and helped me format my devices. Now, I change my passwords every month and remain in regular contact with them,” she added.
Living in Fear After Privacy Breach
The incident has left Norouzi deeply shaken. “Now, I’m scared to even open my emails or social media. The fear that my private photos might have been leaked keeps me anxious day and night. I’ve even sought therapy to help me cope. It feels like someone is constantly watching me, and I’m living in fear,” she shared.
Best known for her role as Zoya Mirza in Netflix’s Sacred Games, Elnaaz Norouzi recently made her Hollywood debut alongside Gerard Butler in Kandahar, directed by Ric Roman Waugh.
