Once again the fraud Drishti Beach Safety stands exposed with local fishermen Pele rescuing Russian tourist at Benaulim. Where were the Lifeguards? We once again demand Judicial Inquiry of Drishti Lifeguard Services contract of Tourism Department. Shame on Minister Rohan Khaunte, stated Congress Media Cell Chairman Amarnath Panjikar.

Reacting to the incident of a local fisherman Pele rescuing a Russian tourist at Benaulim beach, Amarnath Panjikar blamed BJP Government for not taking action against the Lifeguard Contractor.

Government has spent 226.83 crores on Beach Safety & Security Contract from March 2020 till March 2024.  In the same period 56 Drowning Deaths occurred in Goa. This shows that the Contractor is not performing his duties, said Amarnath Panjikar.

Beach Safety Contractor frequently claims that the Lifeguards are saving lives. Surprisingly, Tourism Department has no mechanism in place to check the authenticity of the claims of Drishti. Contractor is making bogus claims, stated Amarnath Panjikar.

How come Lifeguards are not present at the drowning sites when people die? There are drowning deaths reported during daytime when Lifeguards are supposed to be on duty, said Amarnath Panjikar.

Drishti has also claimed that they united 356 Missing & Lost Children with their Parents at various Beaches and Water Bodies in Goa. However, not a single such case is reported at local Police Stations. This clearly exposes the fact that Drishti is making bogus claims, Amarnath Panjikar pointed.

Inspection Reports of Tourism Department have revealed that Towers of Drishti do not have proper storage to secure Rescue Item. There are no CCTV Cameras to cover Swim Zones. Jet Skis have not been registered under necessary provisions. There are no demarcated Swimming Zones on any beaches, said Amarnath Panjikar.

Beach Safety Contract is a major scam of Tourism Department . Government is deliberately turning a blind eye on the contractor as BJP is getting huge kickbacks, said Amarnath Panjikar.
