The Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India, is set to host the inaugural edition of the World Audio Visual & Entertainment Summit (WAVES) from November 20 to 24, 2024. This prestigious event will take place in Goa in collaboration with the State Government of Goa, with the Entertainment Society of Goa appointed as the Nodal Agency.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) cementing this collaboration was signed on July 13, 2024, between the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting and the State Government of Goa.

WAVES aims to serve as a critical platform for fostering dialogue, promoting trade collaborations, and driving innovation within the dynamic media and entertainment industry. It will convene key stakeholders, industry leaders, and innovators to explore opportunities, address challenges, and showcase India’s prowess as a global hub for media and entertainment.

The summit will highlight India’s achievements in the sector, positioning the country as a beacon of innovation and excellence. It is expected to attract significant investments, promote sustainable growth, and bolster India’s leadership in the global entertainment business landscape.

WAVES will feature a diverse array of activities including conclaves, seminars, business engagements, exhibitions, and initiatives aimed at promoting the media and entertainment ecosystem, including MSMEs and startups. The event will also facilitate high-level policy discussions, interactions with industry CEOs, thought leaders, and prominent personalities from India and abroad.

Industry support for WAVES is robust, with key partners such as the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI), the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), and other industry associations pledging their collaboration to ensure the summit’s success.
